Visit to Social Enterprise

2024-04-13 Apr, 2024

On 13 April, a total of 20 students from S.1 to S.5 spent five hours at "Dignity Kitchen", where they learned various cooking skills. In the morning, students learned to cook some delicious Singaporean dishes such as fried Hokkien Mee, Char Kway Teow and stir-fried kangkong with belacan. They enjoyed these dishes together. Additionally, they learned to prepare milk tea and coffee and observed the chef using sign language to communicate, gaining an understanding of the needs of the deaf community. In the afternoon, students helped prepare and distribute lunch boxes to the needy.

Following the culinary activities, the students went on a site tour of "Dignity Kitchen", which allowed students to grasp the social mission of Project Dignity. The project was to help marginalised groups overcome unemployment. Besides, the experience also provided them with an opportunity to realise the impact of giving hot meals to those less fortunate.
