School History

Established in 1987, Carmel Divine Grace Foundation Secondary is the first school in the Tseung Kwan O New Town. The cost of furnishing and equipping the new school premises was generously donated by the “Divine Grace Foundation” set up by Presbyter M H Lau. In the early years, the teachers were faced with different challenges in the aspects of teaching, counselling, discipline, extra-curricular activities and gospel work. With God’s abundant grace, through the leadership of the Incorporated Management Committee, the teachers’ devoted teaching and the students’ endeavour and virtuous behaviour, the School earned an excellent reputation and has become a prominent choice amongst parents and students. In 1998, the School became one of the 114 EMI secondary schools in the territory and was the only EMI school in the Sai Kung District. Students have obtained extraordinary results in the public examinations, with nearly all being admitted to local universities. They have also had outstanding performances in extra-curricular activities and services. In addition, about half of the students are Christians, who accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour and pursue a flourishing life. Over the past 35 years, the School has transformed from the foundations to a popular, reputable school, all due to God’s grace and miracle work on the School, which never fails to amaze its witnesses.
