The S.5 Citizenship and Social Development Study Tour to Zhuhai and Macau was held from 20th to 21st April 2023. 

A total of 124 S.5 students, 13 teachers and 4 EDB officers went across the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to Zhuhai in the early morning. They visited the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge - Zhuhai port centre once they arrived. They then visited Hengqin Comprehensive Guanlang Monitoring Centre, Hengqin Chengzi Ecology Nursery, V12 Cultural Creativity Industrial Park and Beishan Courtyard. Apart from understanding the social and environmental development of Zhuhai over the past twenty years, students could learn more about the livelihood of people there.

They went to Macau and visited the Commemorative Gallery of the Macao Basic Law and Handover Gifts Museum of Macao the next day. Students could develop a better understanding of the implementation of  “one country, two systems” in Macau. It was also a valuable opportunity for them to learn more about the culture and history of Macau.

The tour enabled all participants to gain a fuller understanding of the economic development, environmental protection, cultural preservation and livelihood in Macau and Zhuhai.
