2026-07-28 Jul, 2026From 16 to 28 July 2026, 33 students and three teachers took part in an Overseas Study Tour to Brisbane, Australia, organised by the English Language Department. The tour aimed to enhance students' language proficiency, foster global awareness, and encourage personal growth through immersive educational and cultural experiences.
A key highlight of the trip was the school immersion programme at Groves Christian College. Students attended tailored cultural classes and were paired with local International Ambassadors. By joining regular lessons and school assemblies alongside their Australian peers, participants gained firsthand insight into the local education system while forging meaningful cross-cultural friendships.
To experience authentic Australian hospitality, students stayed with local host families throughout their visit. This welcoming environment offered daily opportunities to practise real-world English, adapt to new surroundings, and experience everyday life in Brisbane.
Complementing the academic schedule was a rich variety of educational excursions. Students explored renowned wildlife sanctuaries, scenic beaches, theme parks, and leading university campuses across Queensland—offering participants a broader understanding of Australia's unique biodiversity, geography, and higher education landscape.
The invaluable lessons, lasting friendships, and cherished memories made in Brisbane will undoubtedly inspire our students in their future endeavours. While returning home brought a sense of accomplishment, it was also bittersweet; everyone felt deeply sentimental leaving behind the warm hospitality of their host families and the genuine camaraderie of their school buddies. We give praise and thanks to the Lord for His protection and abundant blessings throughout the journey—a truly profound experience marked by gratitude, joy, and growth.
