5D Lau Hiu Ching was awarded the second runner-up in the 6th Hang Seng University Chinese Literary Award Competition (Secondary School). The competition was about nature writing. The judges for the competition were Ms. Ip Hiu-man, Human and Ms. Wong Yi, well-known authors who have received “Youth Literary Awards”. In Lau Hiu Ching’s piece of writing, titled “Lichen”, personification was applied to describe the subtle relationship between algae and fungi, showcasing elements of both nature writing and literature.
