5C So Hiu Kiu received “Young Writers Award” from the Hong Kong Baptist University. Her piece of writing was titled “Mum, will you bring me home TODAY?”. The story, written in the first person and expressed in a piteous tone, was about a group of abandoned dogs.

The writing competition, for secondary school students, was jointly organised by Hong Kong Baptist University Faculty of Arts and Language Centre. Famous authors including Mr. Tsui Cheuk Yin, Ms. Chiu Hiu Tung and Mr. Po-wei (Ngan Ka Hing) were invited to serve as judges. The organisers have also been awarding “University Literary Awards”, with many of the recipients later becoming writers themselves.
