To foster a vibrant reading and speaking culture, the English Language Department successfully hosted ESAD II on 22 April 2026 under the theme ‘Fictional Character Day’.

The festivities commenced during the morning assembly, where the Principal and three Vice-Principals set an enthusiastic tone by appearing on stage in full character. This was followed by the Book Character Fashion Show during the English Assembly. Classes from S.1 to S.3 passionately brought beloved characters from the readers they had studied in class to life as models and narrators on stage, while S.4 to S.5 representatives took on the roles of interviewers and adjudicators.

The momentum continued during lunchtime and after school at the game and photo booths, where long queues of Carmelians eagerly practised their oral skills. Many students and teachers dressed up as their favourite characters or brought along matching accessories and props. The entire campus was buzzing with whimsical excitement.
