STEM Day 2023

2023-05-17 May, 2023

The STEM Day was successfully held on 17 May, 2023. Various STEM-related activities and competitions were held that day and the performance of students was remarkable.

There was a Cooling Box Making Competition for all S.1 students. Having learnt the theories about the heat transfer process in Integrated Science lessons, students applied them to make cool boxes which could prevent the melting of ice.

S.2 students took part in a Rocket Car Competition. By applying the concepts related to mechanics, students strove to make the fastest rocket cars.

S.3 students were required to do STEM projects in which they made prototypes to solve real-life problems with the use of Micro:bit, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and 3D printing, etc. On the STEM day, their works were showcased. They also presented their ideas and products to schoolmates.

Students’ creativity, problem-solving skills and collaboration skills were shown as they completed these authentic tasks. With strengthening their ability to integrate and apply knowledge and skills across different curriculums being one of the aims of STEM Education, the STEM Day was a huge success.
